I take my golf seriously. When it comes to golf I play by the rules. Because if I don’t I’ll never know how good I can really be. We each play our own game and depending on what level you play at you may or may not use the rules. But it’s the rules that dictate the game. And if you bend them a little here or there -- knowingly or not -- you’ll never know what your real score is.

PHIL MICKELSON AND BARCLAYS know what I'm talking about. But the pros truly know how to use the rules to their advantage, and so should we. We all have a story about a tournament that we played in when either we or someone we were playing with used a rule to improve their score on a hole or lie on the course. Why keep it to yourself?

Someone once told me, “people are encyclopedias of experience” and I hope that you are willing to share your comments with us below. Because we can all benefit from each others stories.
